Hello friends! Welcome back to my blog, thanks for being here. I'm sharing my last entry for the Mama Elephant guest design call with another slimline box card. I couldn't help myself I just had to create one more box card. I hope you find some inspiration so without further ado let's get started!
I cut the base of the box card with white cardstock and light blue for the front and side stitched panels. For the shelves I used kraft cardstock and inked it with vintage photo distress oxide inks. To make it look like sand I diluted vintage photo and white gouache paint then flicked it onto the shelves with a small paint brush. For the inked background I used the die to cut twice from Bristol Smooth cardstock. For the sunset I blended ripe persimmon and mustard seed distress oxide inks. To add interest I flicked some water and diluted ripe persimmon on the panel. I cut the second cardstock in half to create the ocean. I blended blueprint sketch, salty ocean, and peacock feathers. Again I dilute the darkest color which is the blueprint sketch then splatter on the panel. I constructed the box using liquid glue to adhered them together.
I stamped all the images with MFT milk chocolate ink and colored them with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I added white highlights using a white gel pen. For the sentiment I white heat embossed part of the phrase onto black cardstock. Then I cut out the letters in the word "sunshine" from colored cardstock. I added all the critters and additional elements in the box card with liquid glue. I did cut out the palm tree from white cardstock to glue on the back of the colored palm tree to make it more sturdy. Finally, I added glossy accents on the "sunshine" letters. Phew that's a wrap! I hope you like this summer theme box card. I had a lot of fun creating it.
Thanks for stopping by I'll be back soon!
