ME - Let's celebrate

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Good morning! I'm back with another card using ME Page huggers. I'm loving these cute critters, this time I used the bear and some accessories.

I used soft colors for this card again trying out different color combinations. I colored the bear, ice cream and hat with copic markers. I used distress ink for the background and splashed some water. The frame is called Park Avenue creative cuts also from Mama Elephant. I heat embossed the sentiment from Surprise Sentiment stamps with silver embossing powder.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

ME - Oh hello, friend

Monday, August 29, 2016
Good morning friends! Welcome back to my blog. I hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying your last days of summer. For my card today I used the new stamp set Page Huggers by Mama Elephant. There are four critters a cat, bear, bunny and mice along with food and accessories to dress them. This stamp set is so fun, when you use the coordinating die it will cut right under their paws so they can hold something or they can just hang onto your card just like mine.

As always with most of my card panels I use a rectangle stitch die on water color card stock. I cut the circle using Mama Elephant Columbus Circle creative cut. For the background I used distress inks with a blending tool then I splashed water then dab with a paper towel. I have been trying different color combinations so this was an experiment and I really like how it turned out. I colored the cats with copic markers and heat embossed the word "Oh hello" with white embossing powder. For the word "friend" I die cut it twice one with white card stock and the other one on white foam then I adhered them together. I added foam tape to the back of my card panel and lastly embellished with Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!

MFT - You make my life MAGICAL

Wednesday, August 24, 2016
Hello everyone! I'm back with another card that I made for MFT sketch challenge #294.

Here's my card:

I adore this stamp set by Birdie Brown Magical dragons. I can make my own fairy tale with it and I can combine it with other stamps. The possibilities are endless! For this card I kept it simple. I die cut two stitch rectangle one for my card panel and the second for my cloud. I also die cut one cloud from MFT dienamics End of the rainbow for the mommy dragon and baby dragon to sit on. I colored both dragons with copic markers and distress ink for the background and clouds. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold. I adhered foam tape on the cloud and dragons for dimension and that is all to it!

I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading. Have an awesome day!!

MFT - You make everyday fun

Friday, August 19, 2016
Hello and welcome back to my blog! I'm sharing a fun shaker card today using MFT Soak up the fun. This stamp set is filled with ocean critters which includes these monkey's on a banana boat. Seriously? How cute is that?
I have been making a lot of summer cards lately maybe because it has been very hot and humid here in the US. I hope it will start getting cooler soon. For my card I used distress inks for the background and colored the stamp with copic markers. I used my We R Memory fuse tool to create the shaker part. I also heat embossed the waves behind the shaker. There was a lot of elements to this card so it took some time to get it right. Sometimes what I envision doesn't always go as planned so I had to make a few changes in my design....overall it worked out.

I hope you enjoy! Thank you for stopping by and have a great Friday!

MFT - Life is meant to be enjoyed

Tuesday, August 16, 2016
Hello crafty friends! I'm back with another MFT sketch challenge. When I saw this template I wasn't sure what to do. It was definitely out of my comfort zone but I kept thinking about it and I looked at all the new things that I haven't used then it came to me. With the temperature being so hot these days I have been thinking about the beach.
I used MFT Pure Innocence Fun in the sun stamp. I colored all of the stamps with copic markers. For the background I used a blending tool to get the blue ocean water and warm sand. I'm happy with how this card came out but I wouldn't have thought of this layout on my own.

Thanks for reading, till next time! Ciao!

MFT- Write your own fairytale

Monday, August 15, 2016
Happy Monday I hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to share this card I made using the new Birdie Brown stamp set called Magical Dragons. As I was coloring this adorable dragon stamp I was thinking of so many ways to use it. It is so versatile!
In this scene I pictured the princess and her knight and shining armor meeting a dragon. This dragon is too cute to be scared of so the princess quickly becomes friends with him. I used copic colors for the dragon, knight and princess. For the trees, grass and sky I used distress inks. For dimension I used foam tape on the back of stamps and heat embossed the sentiment.

Here's a closer look. I hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

LF - You are fairy cool

Tuesday, August 9, 2016
Hello I'm back to share another card. I used the fairies from Lawn Fawn once again. As you can see I had way too much fun, LOL! I don't really know how this idea came up but I thought it would be fun. :) The sunglasses are from LF So Smooth stamp set. I colored the fairies with copic markers and added stickles to their wings.

For the background I used MFT premium dye inks in shades of purple and pink colors. The scallop border is from Pretty Pink Posh. I used the sentiment from LF Here's the Scoop and the word fairy from Fairy Friends stamp set. I hope you like it and put a smile on your face. Thanks for stopping by!

Avery Elle - Arigato

Thursday, August 4, 2016
Hello everyone! I'm back with another card using Konnichiwa stamps from Avery Elle. I was fortunate to live in Japan for a couple years and it is still one of my favorite places to see. I especially love spring time when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. When planning to visit Japan I highly recommend going there when it's cherry blossom season, it is absolutely the most beautiful thing to see! That was my inspiration for this card.
I have been into purples lately, you will see in my next posts. I wanted to add the mountains ala Mt. Fuji with the cherry blossoms hanging over. I'm sure you have seen many photos like it.

The girl is colored in copic markers and the thing I love about this stamp is that I didn't have to color the hair. That part of the stamp is solid so using my misti tool I was able to get the dark hair look very easily. Using copic markers would have taken me a long time to achieve it. Also with this stamp it comes with 3 different face expressions. I added a cherry blossom flower and chopsticks in her hair. I used distress inks with a blending tool to make the background. I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and die cut it using a fish tail banner. To finish off my card I scattered clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

MFT - Warm Wishes and Sunny Smiles

Monday, August 1, 2016
Happy Monday crafty friends! Today I'm going to share my card for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #291. It has been a long time since the last challenge I entered which was back in early June. Yikes!! Well this past weekend all I  did was craft, I had so many ideas in my head that I couldn't stop making cards. It felt really good because the past couple weeks I haven't been in the mood. If I didn't have to work today I would have stayed up all night just making cards. Anyway here's my card for the challenge.
All products are from My Favorite Things, the stamp is by Birdie Brown Polynesian Paradise. I wanted to make a beautiful sunset scene with the hula girl dancing on the sand so this is what I came up with. By the way I'm from Hawaii and it's true that we have one of the most beautiful sunsets and beaches in the world. I don't live there at the moment but my parents and siblings are still there so Hawaii will always be my home.
I kept the card fairly simple and true to the sketch template. For the background and sun I used Tim Holtz distress inks and blend it until I got a desired sunset sky and sand. The girl was colored with copic markers. For dimension I used foam tape on the girl and sun. The sentiment was stamped using Memento rich cocoa ink and that completes my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Big Hugs!!
